A Westminster man who was allegedly driving drunk when he crashed his sport utility vehicle into a marked state police cruiser on Route 12 in Leominster Sunday night was released on personal recognizance following his arraignment Monday in Leominster District Court on his second drunken driving offense.
At 8:10 p.m. Sunday, a state police 2008 Ford Crown Victoria occupied by two troopers — a field training officer and a recent state police academy graduate — was struck by a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer SUV, according to David Procopio, spokesman for the Massachusetts State Police.
