At sentencing, drunk driving victim says ‘I would be dead’ without hospital care

After being trapped beneath a vehicle last year with injuries to her legs, Colette Menaldino said she was thankful she was alive to appear today in a Somerville courtroom for the sentencing of the drunken driver who injured her and two other people.

As she became choked up, Menaldino said in court that “if I didn’t make it to the hospital in time, I would be dead.”
