The Albuquerque City Council has passed an ordinance allowing police to confiscate the vehicles of repeat DWI offenders.

On average, Bernalillo County Metropolitan Courthouse deals with more than 4,500 DWI arrests each year. Under the ordinance, police can seize the vehicle if it’s at least the person’s second DWI offense.
