A drunken driver picked the wrong time and place to cross into the opposite lane of traffic, according to State Police.

John M. Lucas, 46, of Gloversville was driving west on Fulton County Highway 122 when he crossed into the eastbound lane — forcing a trooper on patrol off the road, police said. The trooper turned around to follow the vehicle and saw it continue to drive down the center of the road.
