Drunk driver starts four car crash on I-65

A man who was driving drunk on Interstate 65 on Saturday night was charged with a misdemeanor after he caused a four vehicle crash late Saturday night. Three victims of the crash in Lake County were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.


According to a report from the Indiana State Police, Armando Gomez, 33, of Portage was driving northbound in an SUV with a BAC of 0.09. Around 11 p.m. he hit a car which spun off the roadway, into a ditch on the outer shoulder of the interstate. The car needed to be towed, however, the driver was not injured.
