Ex-firefighter surrenders in SF rig crash, faces 3 charges

A former San Francisco firefighter surrendered Monday to face felony drunken-driving charges stemming from an incident last year in which he allegedly struck a motorcyclist while driving a fire rig, authorities said.

Michael Quinn, 43, was indicted on three felonies in connection with the crash June 29, in which he allegedly ran a red light and badly injured a motorcyclist at Fifth and Howard streets in the South of Market.
