Felony DUI bill advances in Colorado House

A bill that would make repeated convictions for drunk driving a felony under Colorado law advanced in the House on Thursday after being unanimously passed by the chamber’s Appropriations Committee.

Mark Waller, R-Colorado Springs, the prime sponsor of the bill, said there are still hurdles to cross in the Senate before Colorado joins 45 other states that have similar laws on the books.
