Former Greensboro police chief Tim Bellamy appeared in court Monday morning, in his first appearance in traffic court since being arrested and charged with a DWI earlier this year.

The Guilford County Courthouse clerk of court for Greensboro confirmed a courtroom session began at 8:30 a.m. First appearances are typically procedural, in which the judge determines the defendant’s legal representation and sets another court date.
