The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a pair of DWI repeat offenders, including a man booked with his seventh drunk driving charge, authorities said. Deputies arrived at a service station on Louisiana Highway 1 in Raceland just after 10 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 9) to check on a report of a driver fast asleep inside of a truck parked near a gas pump, according to Brennan Matherne, spokesman for the department.
They found a man, later identified as Jessie Joseph III, 30, slumped over the driver’s seat of the truck, engine running. Once the deputies woke Joseph and got him out of the truck, they noted he exhibited signs of possible intoxication, Matherne said.
