Police chiefs opposed to new DWI bill

A bill that would allow first-time offenders of the state’s driving while intoxicated laws to obtain a limited license so they can travel to work, rehabilitation and doctor’s appointments has piqued the interest of many New Hampshire residents, but was declared impossible to enforce by the police chiefs association this week.

Pat Sullivan, executive director of the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police, said his organization is opposed to HB 496, which will be heard by the House of Representatives Wednesday.
