Less than three hours after he was arrested while allegedly driving drunk, a Phillipsburg man hit his mother in the head and repeatedly kicked her while she lay on the ground, police and court records say.

Shaun Bailey, 31, was scheduled to make his first appearance Monday afternoon in New Jersey Superior Court in Belvidere on charges of aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.
