Proposed law would make third DUI a felony

A Weld County state representative wants to see repeat drunk drivers face stiffer penalties and is reintroducing a bill that tends to make a third driving beneath the influence charge turn out to be a felony offense.

District 63 Representative Lori Saine said a related bill failed to pass in the Senate final year. She added that the newest version has bipartisan support so she expects it to pass in the Property of Representatives and the Senate during the 2015 Colorado Basic Assembly’s legislative session, which starts on Wednesday.
