Santa Fe Co.’s DWI urine testing program seems to be working

A Santa Fe County program that aims to stop repeat DWI offenders is working well, according to officials.

The program, which started last year, utilizes random urine testing to make sure people follow the conditions of their probation.

“One of their conditions is they can’t drink or use drugs, and that’s holding them to the fire, making sure they don’t,” said Lupe Sanchez, the county’s DWI coordinator.
