A New Canaan teen was pulled over and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol on South Avenue after police said he didn’t dim his car’s high beams on Tuesday, July 29, at 9:35 p.m.
The officer was traveling south on South Avenue (Route 124) when he passed the teen’s vehicle, traveling in the opposite direction. The teen’s vehicle had its high-beam lights on, which is a violation when passing another car, police said. When the officer told the driver why he was pulled over, he smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath, according to police.
