Toxicology testing in Asheville to ease backlog of DWI cases

N.C. Department of Justice officials are gearing up to expand a state crime lab based in Asheville by adding blood toxicology services, which is expected to help reduce a crushing backlog of DWI cases statewide.

 

Ten toxicologists will be based at the Asheville lab by late spring or summer, officials said.
