University student gets prison time for fatal drunk-driving crash

A Winnipeg university student has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison for a drunk driving crash that killed his friend.


Jong Hoon Kim, 23, pleaded guilty to driving impaired causing death for the December 2011 tragedy. The victim, Dong Hyun Kim, suffered extensive injuries after the car being driven by Jong Kim rolled on Pembina Highway at Byng Place, near the Jubilee underpass.
