Woman charged with drunk driving held without bail

A 60-year-old Revere woman has been held without bail after pleading not guilty during her arraignment Tuesday in Cambridge District Court on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, seventh offense, as well as several related charges.

She has been scheduled for a dangerousness hearing on Friday in Cambridge District Court.

The woman was identified as Brenda Drinkwater, 60, of Revere, who was arrested by Arlington Police Chief Fred Ryan at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, after he observed her allegedly driving back and forth across Summer Street, almost striking other motorists, police said. Children were playing sports nearby, he said.
