An 18-year-old woman critically injured in a crash with an alleged drunk driver in Nanaimo was the designated driver responsible for getting her friends home safely.

Jasmine Bussiere, a student in the culinary arts program at Vancouver Island University, is in critical condition at Victoria General Hospital, in an induced coma and suffering from internal injuries.
